Quillian Center has positions available to assist full time staff with daily operations and programs. A majority of our summer revolves around day camp. Summer intern(s) will be hands on - assisting with administrative responsibilities, daily programming, teen camp and special events. Our summer camp is accredited by the American Camp Association; therefore, summer intern(s) will assist with managing the standards set forth by the ACA. In addition, summer intern(s) will have the opportunity to manage our youth basketball league and adult sports programs. Summer intern(s) will also be exposed to our aquatics facility and concessions stand. Intern(s) will also be educated on Quillian Center's annual budget, marketing, facility maintenance, and will meet with the Quillian Center Board of Directors when requested.
Summer Camp Counselor
Positions are available to be a lead counselor at Camp Quillian. This day camp program is accredited by the American Camp Association. Daily duties include the supervision and programming of a particular age group, leading campers in games, crafts, and special events while assisting other programs such as sports or enrichment classes.
Assistant Athletic Coordinator
A position is available to assist the Quillian Center Athletic Director in summer youth and adult sports programs. These programs include:
- Youth Basketball League
- Mens Softball
- Co-ed Softball
- Co-ed Volleyball
- Mens Basketball
This position will require working nights and weekends. Duties would include registration of teams and individuals, player evaluations, coaches training, scheduling of games and officials, ordering uniforms, and supervision of games and practices.
A concession manager trains concession staff members, schedules each shift and provides performance management. When working behind the counter, a concession manager is responsible for selling products to customers, and maintaining a pleasant attitude in an effort to create a positive customer experience. As a supervisor, a concession manager carries out all operational duties, including opening and closing the concession stand, closing out the cash register and maintaining inventory levels. In addition, a concession manager will work closely with the lifeguard staff and be responsible for visiting day care groups.
Performs duties required to sell concessions to pool customers and summer camp children. Concession workers welcome guests to the pool and receive payments and make correct change for customers while closely monitoring money in cash drawer to ensure adequate change is available. Concession workers perform other duties such as clean up of concession stand and assisting with camper snacks while maintaining a pleasant attitude in an effort to create a positive customer experience.
